Any chance we'll see 16bit versions of this run?

Subject: Great Show!
My first show was in March of 1973 and I caught several Dead, Garcia Band and Bob shows over the following years. The last time I saw the Dead live was in Vegas in 1994 - 18 years ago! I didn't go to see the various iterations of the Dead since Jerry's passing because I thought I would be disappointed.
Well, a good friend of mine asked me to join him for this show. Since The Greek Theater is one of my favorite outdoor venues and it had been so long that I said "why not?"
What a magical evening! It was nice to feel the vibe again. The crowd was great. Security was cool and the band was ON!!! Loved that Cat/Rider. I will not let another 18 years pass!

Subject: Sounds great!
I just wanted to hear that Althea, since I read some great things about it. Indeed wonderful.

Starting the China Cat, my first impression is this. John needs a punchier tone, and Weir needs to take some of those multi-percussive qualities of his tone down into balance. It doesn't sound right when the rhythm guitar is more prominent than the lead. I think they should be balanced together, , and for the most part, they're pretty close. But for that intro to China Cat, I want to be knocked upside the head by that line that Jerry played. On this recording, it's just a little too sanded-down-smooth in reverby texture and buried beneath the choppy and complex tone that Weir brings.

Subject: Loved the Show
The vibe at this show was great. Everyone was soooo cool. Even the ride in on the LA Freeways was fantastic. How about that colorful sunset before the show! Thanks to the Greek Theatre ushers that let me back into the show so I could return with my meds. Not to mention all of my new found friends that shared theirs. The jams were incredible. Turn up the bass and pump up the volume, this show ROCKS!

oops pardon me my original review was mostly regading the sunday show--the last couple were so great i'm still muddled :) just adding my opinion that i'd rather hear bobby sing mission and all the poignant jerry stuff. he has the depth of heart and longing, expressing this feeling of grief all these years...i appreciate john's professional dedication to our music very much but for me its all about depth of heart with the jerry ballads. the group singing on key lines works great for me too.

anyway, i am loving this band all in all. too bad the crowds are so awful right now tho--wtf! LA crowd was horrendous as everyone has stated, but challenging all over CA at least. that's my only complaint tho, cause the band is totally smokin!! jams are so tight and jazzy, some seriously professional interpretations!

Subject: very nice .....
sounds good .... good show good quality recording - nice job, taper, thanks for posting. whoever the guest vocalist on mission in the rain is does the tune justice, is better than hearing bobby do it ... sorry but certain tunes he should really stay away from and let johnnie take'm, MITR is one of them IMO, but the guest sounds good ....

Mr. Barfield, thank you for this recording. You seem to be one of the only tapers out there for this show, and the only one to post a recording of it. Sounds great, It just seems the recording levels were a little low. Good work though! Keep 'em coming, WEIR listening!
